Holly Smee, MA, RCC ~ Not accepting referrals

Holly is the Creator, Owner, and Director of HollyTree Wellness Centre. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and has does equine assisted psychotherapy in the summer months. Most of Holly's time goes to managing the clinic, supervising Master's Students on practicum, and maintaining continuity of care for an established caseload from the past; as a result she is not available for appointments with  new individuals and sends all referrals to the practitioners listed below. Please see who is accepting new referrals from the therapists at Hollytree and pick whomever you feel the greatest resonance with.

Erica Spink, PhD

Erica obtained a PhD from Queen's University in Sociology with a focus on emotions, trauma, and community health.  Before pursuing her Doctorate she obtained a diploma from Grant MacEwan University as a Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) and is certified in Reflexology, Reiki, Touch for Health, and NLP. She is also a certified birth doula.  She is currently completing a second Masters in Counselling Psychology and will be completing the final hours of her degree doing a practicum at Hollytree under the clinical supervision of Holly Smee. Erica loves to work with Youth, Adults and Seniors, LGBTQ2S+ and with anyone struggling through life changes and wellness/identity/relational challenges.  She can support people experiencing anxiety issues, depression , and addictions or other trauma related difficulties. Erin Rodier, MA, RCC

Erin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who takes an integrated approach to working with children, teens, and adults. She uses a variety of therapeutic techniques such as CBT, Synergetic Play Therapy, Behaviour Analysis, Social Skill Training, Sensory integration, Nature & Adventure therapy, Expressive therapies, Parent Training and Neurofeedback. Erin has extensive experience working with  individuals who experience neurodivergence such as ADHD, ASD and Developmental Disabilities, and also works with anxiety, phobias, depression grief, behavioural concerns, sensory processing issues, and more. Her focus is helping individuals and families feel more grounded and empowered to identify, work through, and let go of what is holding them back. Francesca Ter Poorten, MA (Candidate)

Residing in Fernie, Francesca has been a life coach for 15 years. She has also has taught yoga for 30 years and owns a yoga studio in her home town (www.essentialyogastudio.com). She is available to work with adolescents and adults with a client centred framework utilizing mindfulness based cognitive behavioural therapy and narrative therapy. She can help with binge eating disorder, anxiety, stress, life transitions, anger management, transgender support, sexuality, depression, and addictions. Francesca is finishing the last remaining hours of her Master's degree, under supervision of Holly Smee, and will be back with us at Hollytree working for $50/hour until April 18, 2022. Jessica Rita Smith, MA, BSW, CCC-Q

Jessica is a registered Canadian Clinical Counsellor in her qualifying period (CCC-Q) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Jessica holds a master of arts in counselling psychology, and an undergraduate degree in social work. Jessica works from a holistic psychotherapy lens, and primarily uses the modalities of EMDR and Wild Mind (eco-psychology). Jessica is currently training in Clinical Hypnosis, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy, and has eight years of working with trauma, depression, anxiety, problematic substance use, and psychosis. Kathie Robertson, MA, RCC

Kathie has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She takes a client-centered approach to counselling and works with a variety of treatment modalities, like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based, Attachment-Based for both teens and couples and EMDR. Kathie has extensive experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, chronic health/pain related issues, stress-related issues, addictions, anger management, trauma, family and couples/relationship/marital issues. Kristin holds a Master Of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Matthew Wilson-Birks, MA, RCC

Matthew is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and holds a master of arts in counselling psychology. He works primarily from an EMDR and  cognitive-behavioural foundation of therapy (CBT) that draws upon wisdom traditions like Stoicism and mind-body practices including breathwork, hypnosis, and mindfulness. Melanie is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is also a Gateless Writing Coach who encourages the use of the written word to heal and grow.
