Holly is the Founder and Director of HollyTree Wellness Centre. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and also does equine assisted psychotherapy in the summer months. Holly works primarily with trauma/PTSD, spirituality, phobias, anxiety, relationship violence, stress management, and is an LGBTQ ally. While trained in various modalities, her favourite is EMDR and her work draws on it heavily. Ava Clark, MA, RCC
Ava is a Certified Clinical Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a Masters in Art Therapy and uses several treatment modalities including E.M.D.R, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, as well as Hypnotherapy. She works all ages in areas such as anxiety and stress, depression, OCD, trauma, PTSD, post-partum anxiety/depression, life changes, relationship challenges, parenting, LGBTQ issues, and pain management. Jineya Naicker, MA, CCC
Jineya is a Certified Clinical Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and has a Masters in Counselling Psychology. Her clinical style stems from person-centred mindfulness based approaches, EMDR, CBT, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). In the past she has worked closely with immigrants and refugees, college populations, and LGBTQ community members. Kristin holds a Master Of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Kristin uses an integrated approach of various modalities, including EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Kristin is also a LGBTQ+ ally. Kristin has over ten years of experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, addiction, trauma and PTSD, parenting challenges, divorce, compassion fatigue, postpartum challenges and grief and loss. Matthew Wilson-Birks, BA, MA - Candidate
Matthew is currently finishing his Masters education in Counselling Psychology with a practicum at Hollytree Wellness Centre for the remainder of 2020. Working under the supervision of Holly Smee, Matthew will be providing subsidized counselling free of charge until July 1st (possibly to be extended). The goal of this program is to assist individuals struggling who are also on a low income and without benefits or counselling during the pandemic. Matthew has previously worked as a supportive and vocational counsellor for the last 4 years serving individuals with multiple barriers to community inclusion and now he turns his focus to clinical counselling. Drawing from a broad interest in evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioural therapy, and wisdom traditions like Stoicism, Matthew believes that counselling should be collaborative, productive, compassionate, and respectful. Melanie is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is also a Gateless Writing Coach who encourages the use of the written word to heal and grow. She is passionate about helping adults move through any trauma, stress, and anxiety that may be creating a sense of stuckness in the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical bodies. She offers 20 years of education and expertise in the fields of injury and trauma recovery, stress reduction, and life coaching. Melanie's greatest purpose is to be an encourager and advocate for the wellness and dreams of those around her. Rebecca has 23 years of experience in the helping profession. She is a Registered Clinical Counselor who is an EMDR Therapist. She is also trained in Behaviour Analysis, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), CBT - Insomnia, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Ego State Interventions. These additional therapies are integrated into EMDR sessions, based on the individual needs of each client she supports. She provides individual counselling for children, youth and adults.
